The IYC Youth Council meets twice per month to discuss programming and other issues at the youth centre and within the broader community.  The function of the youth council is to create a "youth voice" for Inuvik youth.  They are responsible for organizing youth centre events such as dances, open-stage nights, and other fundraisers such as community barbeques.  The IYC Youth Council participants gain leadership, organizational and communication skills. 

Their most recent initiative involved running a canteen at the 50th Anniversary Muskrat Jamboree.  This event was a great success, the youth made nearly $500 in profits and will decide at their upcoming meeting how they would like to see that money spent.   Way to go IYC Youth Council!
