DIRECTOR, Joanna Lehrer HBA

Joanna has had the opportunity to work with youth in northern Ontario, Quebec and Spain.  While she has taught both English and art, she most recently worked with the charitable organization, Project C.A.N.O.E. to deliver empowering wilderness programs for at-risk youth in Ontario.   Joanna is a certified Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician, and has developed programs and policies for youth organizations for many years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

PROGRAM COORDINATOR, Teresa Winter BA

Teresa studied International Development at Dalhousie University in Halifax.  She has worked with the Ghost River Rediscovery program developing youth leadership skills internationally and in Canada.  Teresa also worked for the Bearspaw Band on the Stoney Reserve in Morely Alberta developing a youth program with Alberta Parks and Recreation and Alberta Future Leader's Program.  She most recently completed a CIDA internship in India.  Teresa is primarily responisble for the Wholly Literate Program, including Guitar lessons, Book club, Oral Storytelling and the Bomber Pages.  A successful applicant for the True SPort Community Fund, Teresa will shortly be organizing a Youth Centre Hockey League. 

 

PROGRAM COORDINATOR, Lindsay Wood BA

Lindsay is dedicated to working with youth in different capacities.  Previously a swimming instructor, lifeguard and assistant speech pathologist, Lindsay brings her vibracy and strong organizational skills to the Youth Centre Team.

Trista Arey

A grade 11 student at Samuel Hearne Secondary School, Trista has been working as a youth worker at the Inuvik Youth Centre since March 2007.  Trista is also a member of the IYC Youth Council.  Trista loves to sing and is involved with community drum dancing.  One day, Trista hopes to be a doctor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Allen Edwards

Likes to have fun.  He plays guitar and bass, and loves to skidoo more than anything else.  You can find him hanging out with his younger brother much of the time.  He's mechanically adept and great with computers.  We're grateful to have him on board.

Tali Sound

Tali is a successful mother.  She is looking forward to returning to school.  A strong and compassionate worker, we are lucky to have Tali on our team.  

Brooke Hope

Brook is currently attending high school.  She is actively involved in our young women's leadership programs.
